Obituary: Janis Claxton, visionary Edinburgh-based Australian dancer, choreographer and activist

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Janis Claxton - recent recipient of the prestigious Herald Archangel Award - who died at age 53 from lung cancer on 7th September 2018.

Choreographer Janis Claxton wins The Herald ARCHANGEL AWARD for POP-UP Duets (fragments of love)

Edinburgh-based choreographer Janis Claxton wins the prestigious Herald ARCHANGEL AWARD for her outstanding work POP-UP Duets (fragments of love) which won critical acclaim since its premiere in 2016, and which has since toured nationally and internationally to Taiwan, Singapore, Sweden and the USA. POP-UP Duets is now back in Edinburgh as part of the Fringe Festival, from 22 to 26 August at the National Museum of Scotland at 15h30.
