Friedemann Vogel performs the award-winning "Soul Threads" at the SWR Schwetzingen Festspiele

After winning two Danza & Danza Awards at the 2024 Spoleto Festival, including one for Friedemann Vogel in Choreography/Performance, “Soul Threads” will be presented at the SWR Schwetzingen Festspiele on 6th + 7th May at the Schwetzingen Palace Theatre. Co-choreographed by Thomas Lempertz, this timely solo also features live music by Gaisma (Alisa Scetinina) and digital art by Timo Kreitz.

“What makes this evening so powerful is that even if you don’t know the source text, you live a transformation. Over the span of an hour, what begins as inert matter—a puppet, a pile of wood—gradually comes to life. It breathes, it moves, it awakens. And in that awakening, we witness the soul reclaiming its space from the mechanical. In an age where artificial intelligence blurs the line between the human and the programmed, Soul Threads reminds us—subtly but unforgettably —what it means to be alive, to feel, to move with intention and grace.”
