“an unforgettably good reading of poor Rudolf from Friedemann Vogel - it has the blaze of tragedy and suffering that only very few danseeurs can bring to the role. … an artist of grand and penetrating gifts.” Clement Crisp

This summer, Friedemann Vogel reprises two of his most iconic dramatic roles: as Crown Prince Rudolf in Kenneth MacMillan’s Mayerling (the Mount Everest of male lead roles in ballet), about the tormented heir to the Austro-Hungarian empire, and as “the most elegant, the most elegiac Onegin of all time” (Südwest Presse) in John Cranko’s Onegin. Mayerling opens 2nd July, and Onegin 10th July at the Stuttgart Ballet, with more performances to follow.
